Scott Hogan's lengthy transfer saga has not got an impact on Brentford's ability to invest in their squad, although it would obviously change how much they can spend.
The Bees are closing in on Dutch winger Florian Jozefzoon as Dean Smith looks to add width to his squad and more could be following.
The Brentford head coach has previously gone on record prioritising a defensive midfielder, with Coventry midfielder Ben Stevenson heavily linked with a move to the club.
And co-director of football Phil Giles, who hit out at the way the transfer window was run regarding the Scott Hogan transfer saga, believes the final days of the transfer window are going to be 'mayhem' for all clubs.
He said: “It (a potential fee for Hogan) would have some sort of impact in our ability to spend.
“We can spend anyway but the whole market has ground to a halt and it's going to be mayhem this week. That questions why you have a whole window to disrupt everyone for three weeks.”
