Akaki Gogia's difficult two years at Brentford appears to be coming to an end as he is reportedly on the verge of joining Union Berlin.

German newspaper Kicker are reporting that a deal is almost done and the German U19 international will make a move permanent.

Brentford signed him on a free transfer from FC Hallescher in May 2015, announcing the deal the day after their play-off defeat to Middlesbrough.

Gogia made just 14 appearances for the Bees during his time at the club with nine of those as a substitute without finding the net.

After finding himself down the pecking order under Dean Smith, Gogia was loaned out to Dynamo Dresden and he scored 10 goals in 22 appearances for the German second tier side.

And Union Berlin have taken note and are looking to bring the winger to the capital with a deal likely to go through when the transfer window opens.
