Leicester have joined the race to sign Brentford playmaker Jota, according to reports.

Swansea, Bournemouth and Derby have previously been linked with the Spaniard, who has scored 11 times in 42 games for the Bees including two last minute strikes against Fulham.

The Foxes secured their Premier League status in the final weeks of last season thanks to a superb run of form in March and April and are keen to bolster their squad for the new campaign.

Brentford are undergoing a restructuring with Marinus Dijkhuizen leading the coaching department, while the club have appointed Flemming Pedersen as their new director of football philosophy and player development.

Jota was the Bees' record signing last summer and the club would be looking for a fee in excess of £5millon for the Spaniard, who has one of the best left foots in the Championship.

The 24-year-old, though, has other things on his mind as he will marry Jessica Bueno on July 6.
