Brentford are locked in talks with Gillingham over a compensation package for frontman Luke Norris.

The Stevenage-based striker snubbed a new deal at Griffin Park to sign a two-year contract with the League One side, who fended off competition from Dagenham and Northampton Town for his signature.

Brentford are entitled to compensation for the 21-year-old's development. The terms will be decided by a tribunal if the two clubs fail to reach an agreement.

Norris made four first-team appearances in TW8, scoring one goal, since his arrival from non-league outfit Hitchin Town in 2010.

The Bees youth-team graduate follows the pathway of Antonio German, who rejected a new contract in west London to join the Gills last summer.
