Brentford returned to pre-season training yesterday (Monday) in high spirits as they prepare to try and improve on last season's 10th placed finish.

The squad, with the exceptions of Lasse Vibe, John Egan, Henrik Dalsgaard and Andreas Bjelland who were on international duty earlier this month and have been given a later return date.

Jota, who has been linked with a summer move to Burnley over the past few weeks, was also present and was focused on building up his strength for the new campaign.

The Brentford squad started their day with gym work as they were welcomed back by the staff at Jersey Road after their six weeks away.

The afternoon saw them get down to work with the footballs as they look to build up fitness as well as their skills ahead of what will certainly be a gruelling campaign.

The Bees have two working weeks of training before their first pre-season friendly at Aldershot Town on July 7.

They will then head to northern France for a training camp for a week, playing a friendly against Lausanne.

After returning to England, the Bees will then face Oxford United (July 19) , Southampton (July 22), MK Dons (July 25) and Celta Vigo (July 29) ahead of their season opener at Sheffied United on August 5.
