Brentford have signed Arsenal youngster Jon Toral on a season-long loan.

The 19-year old is the second Spanish midfielder to join the Bees today following the signing of Jota Peleteiro.

Brentford boss Mark Warburton told the club's website: “Jon is a very talented attacking midfield player.

“He is strong and powerful.

“Jon has come through a couple of nasty injuries, it is great to see him fully fit and he can now start to show his undoubted potential.

“We are thankful that Arsenal have given us this opportunity.

“Jon has come here to push hard for a place in the squad and the first XI.

“He is an excellent addition to our group.

“This is a sign of the relationship we have with Arsenal and our continuing desire to add quality to our playing squad.”

Toral arrived at the Gunners in the summer of 2011 from Barcelona alongside compatriot Hector Bellerin and last season scored five times in just seven appearances for the U18s.

Brentford now have three Spanish midfielders at the club, with Peleteiro and Marcos Tebar also among the ranks.
