A four-way battle is developing in the race to sign Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford on loan.

Get West London last week exclusively revealed the Blues are looking to send the striker out on loan to another Premier League team to continue his football education.

Brentford have made contact with Chelsea about borrowing the 20-year-old but it appears QPR are also keen to take the highly-rated young forward.

Rangers’ top-flight status could give them the edge as Jose Mourinho wants the player to make a step up after spells in League One at MK Dons and in the Championship with Derby.

A move to Loftus Road would represent a progression for the striker, who played 45 minutes of Saturday’s 3-2 win over AFC Wimbledon, and scored last week at Wycombe Wanderers.

Wolves are also said to be in the running for Bamford, along with one other unknown club, giving Mourinho plenty of options  when deciding where to send his young charge next term.
