Brentford could still re-sign Cardiff City winger Kadeem Harris on loan - even though the youngster is sidelined with an ankle injury.

The 20-year-old scored twice in 11 games during a spell with the Bees earlier this season, only for his stint at Griffin Park to be cut short after tearing his hamstring.

Harris was due to return to TW8 earlier this week before he suffered another setback in training that could keep him out for up to four weeks.

However, Brentford could still press ahead with plans to sign the Londoner if he makes good progress before the loan window closes later this month, which would enable him to play a part in the League One run-in.

Any move depends on the fitness of midfielder Sam Saunders, who is on the road to recovery following knee surgery in February.
