Akaki Gogia is set to complete a transfer to Union Berlin, according to reports in Germany.

Union boss Jens Keller had counted the midfielder as part of his squad ahead of the off-season break but Dynamo Dresden are reportedly have a first refusal clause with the Bees.

Gogia has fallen down the pecking order at Griffin Park and was allowed to join Dresden on loan last year with Brentford head coach Dean Smith unable to guarantee him regular first team football after he made just 13 Championship appearances in the 2015/16 campaign.

He impressed for the Saxons last season, scoring 10 goals in 22 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga.

Union Berlin have made moves to sign him but he was a notable absentee when the German side returned to pre-season training as the wrangling between the three clubs continued, with the transfer window in Germany opening at the start of June

The window for English clubs to officially make signings opens on July 1.
