Brentford goalkeeper Jack Bonham has extended his loan spell at Carlisle for the rest of the season.

The 24-year-old was allowed to leave Griffin Park to get some game time but, originally, signed a half-season deal with the Cumbrians to give all parties a break clause.

After playing 23 games in all competitions for the mid-table side, all agreed to extend the deal for the rest of the season.

Dean Smith told the club's official website: “We agreed Jack could go to Carlisle because we felt he could play the games he needed.

“He has great potential but needs competitive football in order to improve. He has impressed while he has been there and Carlisle wanted to keep him.

“We have been pleased with the loan so far and were happy to agree. I wish Jack all the best for the rest of the season.”
