Brentford midfield player Jan Holldack has signed a new one-year B Team contract.

Holldack, who can play in both midfielder defence, spent the second half of the 2016/17 campaign with Wuppertaler SV and links up with Brentford B as they return to pre-season training.

He joined The Bees in the summer of 2015 after his contract at 1. FC Köln expired, making his debut against Exeter in the EFL Cup last August.

In his half-season in the German fourth tier Jan played 13 games in all competitions and scored three goals.

Robert Rowan, Brentford FC head of football operations, said: “I’m looking forward to having Jan back with us this season.

“He’s another player, like Manny Onariase, who’s had a good year gaining valuable experience that will benefit his career in the long term.

“It was a positive start to last season for Jan, making his debut for the first team against Exeter followed by training opportunities with the first team.

“The last six months he’s been playing first team football in Regionalliga West with Wuppertaler and had several good performances plus three goals and assists. It is positive to see him continuing to score goals from midfield in first team football.”
