Admira Wacker have confirmed that Brentford have signed Konstantin Kerschbaumer, who was pictured at the training ground last Friday.

The Austrian central midfielder, who has been capped at U19 level, has agreed a four year deal with the Bees and will link up with his new team-mates at the club's Jersey Road training ground tomorrow.

The 22-year-old had only joined the club in January from SKN St. Polten but his performances have caught the eye of owner Matthew Benham and suitably impressed head coach Marinus Dijkhuizen.

Kerschbaumer said: "I am flabbergasted as a complete surprise this offer was on the table. I was preparing for the upcoming league campaign with Admira but I had the opportunity to change my career in a flash.

“I thank the Admiralty for giving me the chance optimally develop here and I thank the club for the opportunity to leave early.

“I ask for the understanding of all fans to respect my decision. Nobody would turn down this great opportunity. Playing in England is a dream of many footballers.”

GetWestLondon also expect a deal for Andreas Bjelland to be confirmed in the coming days.

Elsewhere, defender Alfie Mawson has agreed to join Barnsley, with the Bees expecting a compensation deal.
