Mark Warburton has not ruled out a move for Watford defender Tommie Hoban – but is not ready to swoop just yet.

The Brentford boss played down speculation linking him with a move the Republic of Ireland U21 international, but admits he is a big fan of the 20 year old.

Hoban has made 11 appearances for the Hornets this season, and 38 in total since breaking through at Vicarage Road three years ago.

Warburton said: “We get linked to a number of players, the rumour mill does what it does. We're always looking to add value to our squad, but only when the time is right, and for now we're in good shape.

“I know Tommie is a very talented lad and is another classy player with a great future in the game, but he is also Watford's player, and I don't make a habit of speculating on other club's players.”

With the loans window having slammed shut last night, any moves Warburton makes in the transfer market will now have to wait until January.
