Brentford have confirmed the signing of Danish star Emiliano Marcondes.
The 22-year-old is not a household name, but the Bees will be hoping he becomes one after the Dane signed a three-and-a-half year deal at Griffin Park to start following the end of his contract with FC Nordsjælland in January.
Manager Dean Smith is excited by Marcondes' potential.
He said: "I am very pleased with the acquisition of Emiliano. He is another talented player to add to the group and he comes with a lot of potential.
"We have a good knowledge of Danish football and we feel that Emiliano can progress further with us. His signing is another indication of us looking towards the future and preparing for what’s to come this season and beyond."
Rasmus Ankersen, co-director of football, believes the 22-year-old has what it takes to become a success in England.
He said: "He has been able to convince us that he possesses the attributes and the mentality to become successful in English football. In addition to being technically good, he loves the physical side of the game, and we believe he has got the toughness required in the Championship."
