Mark Warburton has played down rumours linking Brentford with a move for Liverpool youngster Jordan Ibe.

Bees sporting director Frank McParland oversaw the former Wycombe winger's progression into the Reds first-team during his time working at Anfield, fuelling speculation that the 18-year-old could be set for a loan switch to Griffin Park.

However, boss Warburton says a swoop for the Southwark-born star isn't on the cards.

He said: "Jordan's been on the bench at Liverpool recently, and I can't see him swapping to come here and do the same.

"Where would he play? You're not going to drop Clayton Donaldson, Sam Saunders or Alan Judge at the moment.

"Jordan's a fantastic player, but we've already got good options in that department."

Brentford borrowed Joao Carlos Teixeira from Liverpool earlier this season, only to have his loan spell cut short after making just two substitute appearances.

Meanwhile, Warburton wants to bring Cardiff City winger Kadeem Harris back to the club once he returns to fitness following a hamstring problem.
