Barnet have signed Shaun Batt on a two year deal after his departure from Leyton Orient.

The 28-year-old spent two years at Brisbane Road after a successful loan spell during his time at Millwall.

The forward has plenty of experience and has played in an FA Cup semi final with the Lions and a play-off final at Wembley with the O's in 2014.

“I’m really happy to have signed. It is a good club with great facilities and I am looking forward to getting some stability back in my career.

“In terms of circumstances it is a great club for me and I knew that it is the right place for me to be.

“The guys had a great year last year and I am more than happy to play a part in what will hopefully be another successful season.”

Manager Martin Allen was delighted to sign the forward and revealed he took advice from veteran and former O Kevin Lisbie.

“I’m pleased that we have managed to get in another forward player and if he stays fit then we have got a match winner on our hands.

“When I asked Kevin Lisbie, he said: ‘Get him, he will be a great player for us.’”

“No doubt it will take a bit of time for him to achieve the supreme fitness levels of our players, and Shaun will have to work extremely hard to get to our levels.”
