Player-coach Jon Nurse has left Barnet after having his contract cancelled by mutual consent.

Nurse made 11 appearances for the Bees in their Conference title winning season and is looking to develop as a coach.

The forward was quick to pay tribute to the supporters after his departure was confirmed.

He said: “It was a great achievement to gain promotion with Barnet last season; the fans’ support was fantastic and helped us get over the finish line.”

Bees chairman Tony Kleanthous was quick to pay tribute to Nurse and wished him well for the future.

He added: “Jon Nurse was an excellent servant to the club and put in a lot of effort both on & off the pitch contributing to our successful promotion campaign.”

“We here at Barnet FC wish Jon well with his chosen path into the world of coaching and we will follow his progress with interest. Our thanks go to him for his work with us over the years.”
