Barnet have accepted a six-figure fee for Luke Gambin from Leyton Orient.

The 23-year-old has interested League One and Two sides in recent weeks and has made it clear that he has no intention of signing a new deal at The Hive.

The winger, who has been capped by Malta, has also been made available for transfer as, if a move to the O's falls through, the club don't want to lose his services for nothing at the end of the season.

Chairman Tony Kleanthous said: “Luke has been a fantastic servant to the club, but we have been told in no uncertain terms that he does not want to sign a new contract.

“This has affected our preparations for the season, so we felt that we should act quickly.

"Once agents become involved we have little choice other than to try and secure the best fee we can, so we have agreed this deal with Leyton Orient. The player will need to agree his terms with the club.

"The money will be made available so Martin can bolster his squad. Luke moves on with our best wishes."
