Chelsea World Cup winner Andre Schurrle has set the record straight on stories linking him with a move to Atletico Madrid later this month.
The Blues winger, who scored during Monday night's 3-1 win at Burnley, flatly denied he has any plans to leave Stamford Bridge this month.
Asked about claims of a move to La Liga, the German insisted: “No, I am very happy at Chelsea. This is where I want to play, where I want to play for the fans. There is nothing more to say.”
Schurrle was one of the stars of Germany's victorious campaign in Brazil, and insisted he wanted to add more medals to his personal collection this season with Chelsea.
“I enjoyed the World Cup a lot, so I got out of that with a lot of confidence,” he said.
“I came back to Chelsea, and obviously had a very short break. I was only two and a half weeks at the ocean and could relax.
“But from zero to 100 [miles per hour] – I am hungry, I want to achieve something with Chelsea. I want to win titles with Chelsea.
“So I worked hard these two weeks. I worked a lot – extra for me as well. The only thing I can do is to work and give everything to be 100 per cent in the games.
“I think it was a good start for me [at Burnley], but of course we can be better. And when I am 100 per cent fit, there will be more.”
