Hayes and Yeading United let more points slip away as they struggled to a 1-1 draw at bottom side Bognor Regis Town on Saturday (24/1) in the Blue Square Conference South.

They had to rely on Josh Scott's 14th goal of the season just five minutes from time for a share of the honours and also finished with 10 men after midfielder Will Hendry was sent off in the closing stages of the match.

Bognor went into the game on the back of a seven point deduction for a rules infrigement leaving them well adrift at the bottom of the table.

However, they looked the more dangerous side in the first half and were rewarded on 42 minutes when United defender Matt Ruby was somewhat controversially adjudged to have handled in the penalty area and Sam Pearce scored from the spot.

With Staforde Palmer back in the attack after him loan spell at Northwood, United pushed hard for an equaliser in the second half. With five minutes remaining they were finally rewarded when substitute Omari Coleman put Scott through and he cooly finished.

H&Y were then reduced to 10 men in the 89th minute when Hendry was sent off the second time this season for his second bookable offence in the match.

The point sees United slip to ninth spot in the table although despite their poor recent form they are still only two points off the play-off positions.
