DIVISION ONE SOUTH AND WEST: Slough Town 1   Uxbridge 2

The Uxbridge revival gathered pace away to Slough Town where Tony Choules's side came from behind to make it 10 points from the last 12.

Saturday's 2-1 win, courtesy of goals from Dave Lawrence and Lee Tunnell, was the Reds' first away from home this season and it lifted them to a much healthier-looking 10th in the table.

They had to do it the hard way, however, after former team-mate James Pritchard latched on to a fine pass from Byron Bubb and took the ball round Paul McCarthy to put the Rebels ahead in only the ninth minute.

Within four minutes Uxbridge were level when Kevin Warner crossed, Neil Davies laid the ball off and Lawrence found the net. The turnaround was complete just five minutes later when Tunnell applied a fine header to an inviting Dave Thomas cross.

The Reds were applying good pressure on the home goal and after Mark Dennison saw an effort ruled out for off-side, Davies rattled the crossbar with a powerful header and Wayne Carter was only just wide with a volley from the edge of the area.

McCarthy redeemed himself by saving well from Matt Platt following a weak punch but that was a rare bright moment for Slough.

Tunnell almost punished a mistake by Slough keeper Carl Dennison and the striker then hit the post during a goal-mouth scramble in which Carter saw his effort cleared off the line.

Lawrence had a vicious shot kept out by Dennison as Slough continued to frustrate Uxbridge at least until half-time and it was more of the same after the break as Dennison again foiled Lawrence.

However, if the result was ever really in doubt before, it was not once Harper was dismissed for a bad tackle on Nicholls.

Uxbridge's Dennison headed over from the resultant free kick and missed an identical chance soon after, while substitute Ryan O'Toole volleyed straight at the home keeper.

Lee Riddell let fly from 30 yards but saw the effort clear McCarthy's goal and

Uxbridge were finally able to celebrate.
