* The Ryman Football League DIVISION ONE NORTH Cheshunt 1 Northwood 2
Anthony Page played a huge part as Northwood recorded an eighth win in 10 league games away to mid-table Cheshunt.
The 20-year-old midfielder set the Woods on the way with a superb solo goal and later won the penalty from which Kyle Matthews sealed victory.
The win took Northwood up one place to fourth and consolidated their position in the play-off zone.
There was a quite a different look to the Woods line-up since their last fixture a fortnight earlier. Kyle Matthews partnered debutant Nathan Hilaire in attack due to Pa Amadou Gai being unavailable, John Christian returned to a midfield missing Michael Gordon while he weighs up his transfer options and Ryan Tackley replaced Gary Meakin in a defence which had to do without the suspended Bradley Hewitt.
Northwood were the first to threaten as Tackley's corner almost found a way inside the near post while at the other end Daniel O'Connor saw his shot deflected wide.
Chances were hard to come by although Hugo Figueiredo ran at the Ambers defence before shooting over and after swapping flanks with Robert Ursell it was his pass that Page accepted and he dribbled past three players before coolly slotting the ball past keeper Chris Goodchild.
Northwood could have extended the lead but Matthews was unable to thread his shot through covering defenders after Ursell got beyond Goodchild, who then kept out Matthews' near post effort, yet having created little, Cheshunt equalised.
Swain had not long blocked from Daniel Bradford when five minutes from the break Kai Ramshaw made the most of a dubious free kick awarded on the edge of the box, sending his shot beyond a motionless Swain and into the bottom corner.
Hilaire made way for fellow debutant Solomon Henry early in the second half and he was denied a goal by Goodchild, who also saved well from Matthews and Ursell spurned several opportunities.
Northwood suffered a scare when a rare Cheshunt attack ended with Ashley Taylor-Forbes striking the post with a low drive and they replied immediately, Page being impeded following Ursell's free kick into the box and Matthews made no mistake from the penalty spot. The Woods had just six minutes to survive and both Mervin Abrahams and Michael Pelley were off-target with decent chances as the visitors held out for three more hard-fought points.
