Hayes & Yeading United suffered a second loss in three days on Monday as they were defeated 1-0 at home to Whitehawk rounding off a disappointing Bank holiday weekend.

Phil Babb would have been hoping to see his side bounce back after losing 2-0 away at Basingstoke on Saturday, however instead there was more disappointment for the hosts.

Whitehawk started the brighter of the two sides and came close to scoring just a few minutes in when JP Kissock's effort hit the crossbar.

The away side were the dominant team in the first half and won a penalty in the 37th minute when Kissock was tripped inside the box. Sam Deering then stepped up to convert the spot kick to give the visitors the lead.

The hosts  improved after the break but never really troubled the Whitehawk keeper.

United will be looking to return to winning ways when they travel to Weston-Super-Mare on Saturday.
