Tring Athletic 2  London Tigers 0

A match played in atrocious conditions produced some surprisingly good football throughout the first half. The play flowed from end to end, but with both keepers making crucially good saves to keep the score down to 0-0 at half time.

However, the second half contained all the controversy. In the early minutes from a corner taken by Radion Fegad, Bamba Kavanly headed goalwards but although it looked over the line the defender made a block that looked suspiciously like handball. The referee ruled in favour of Tring saying  that it didn’t cross the line and it wasn’t handball.

From this incident Tring attacked the Tigers goal and a fierce shot from Martin Skinner that was well palmed over the bar by Jamie Adim in the Tiger's goal.

Then in the 67th minute Chris Vardy running into the area was adjudged to have been tripped and a penalty was given. The spot kick was taken by Trevor Gibbs who drove the ball straight and with Adim diving to his right the ball hit the back of the net.

The match was finally decided in the 75th minute when the Tigers pushed everyone forward for a free kick but gave the ball away and Vardy picked up the loose ball and with his pace outran every one for most of the length of the pitch to shoot past Adim for the second goal.
