Colney Heath 1
London Tigers 0
In the first five minutes the Tigers first attack was swift and incisive.
It started with left back Terry Whitman with a good pass out to the middle to Roderjan Rodrigues who completed a quick one two with Redion Fegad, then Rogrigues went on to hit a goal-bound shot that took a lucky deflection of a defender and went wide for a corner.
For the first 20 minutes the Tigers put a lot of pressure on the Colney goal but were unable to capitalise on it.
This pressure restricted Colney to a few breakaway attacks and it was from one of these rare breaks that Colney profited.
It was in the 26th minute that Colney hit a long hopeful ball out of defence and it was Colney’s number 9 Dave Parkinson that reacted quickest and cleared the Tigers back line and in a one on one with keeper Jamie Adim came off best to slot home the only goal of the match.
A little later in the 35th minute Adim had pull off a top class save diving quickly low to his left hand post to touch a shot from Paul Armstrong away for a corner.
In the second half with the weather worsening the skill factor went out of the game and everything became a lottery until the referee had to call a temporary halt to the match whilst the thunderstorm hail and wind passed and the match could continue after the 8 minute break and with both side slipping and sliding about the place there was not much more goalmouth action.
The game faded out to a 1-0 win for Colney Heath.
