Matty Woods scored in the first minute as Uxbridge drew 1-1 draw against AFC Hayes on Monday at Honeycroft.

The Reds striker got the home side off to a flying start when he fired into the bottom corner past former Reds keeper Sam Mazurek.

Uxbridge were unable to capitalise on their early lead and on 18 minutes AFC Hayes drew level.

Tobi Akinjirin equalised for the visitors when he converted  his side footed effort after Lee Clarke's  free kick hit the post and Dan Tomlin's header struck the bar.

The home side had the better chances in the second half and Lewis Cole came close to restoring the Reds lead when he got a good sight of goal, only to be denied by  Mazurek.

The ball then appeared to strike Hayes defender Chas Goode on the hand, however Uxbridge appeals for a penalty were turned down.

Woods came close to scoring near the end but was denied by Mazurek at the death which meant the game ended a goal apiece.

Elsewhere David Manu scored twice to inspire North Greenford United to a surprise victory away at Hanwell Town.

Manu's second half brace followed George Moore's first half strike to secure a 3-0 win for the away side.

Meanwhile Joakim Ehui proved to be the hero for Northwood as his strike just before half time was enough to secure a 1-0 victory at home to Potters Bar.
