Fulham 0-3 Leeds

It couldn't have got worse for Fulham had a hurricane hit the Cottage.

Fulham murdered Leeds in the first half - and yet the away side took a lead. Then Kostas Satfylidis was sent off for two yellow cards in 30 second-half seconds. First for dissent, and then for a tackle on Sam Byram from behind in the very next action.

Ross McCormack was jeered from first to last by the fans who adored him last season at Leeds picked up what looked like an Achilles injury - and he's suffered his fair share of those already.

Night time robbery has never been more evident, and even the first United goal looked like Bryan Ruiz had been fouled leading to build-up.

An unchallenged Byram on 40 minutes had a reasonably easy task to head down and in from dead centre in the box as defenders in white looked at each other.

Mouths hung open on three sides of the ground. It could have been 5-0, no kidding, after half an hour.

Tormentor in chief Matt Smith won everything in the air, and set up Ross McCormack for a side-foot effort from which the the ex-hero in Yorkshire should have scored.

Ruiz's chip from 25 yards had keeper Marco Silvestri back-peadlling to tip over and Stafylidis's left-foot drive from distance was tipped around the base of post. McCormack's chip for a Smith header was just the wrong side of the post. A Ruiz corner then bounced on to bar from a corner.

Another flashing Smith header went just past the post eight minutes later but woudn't you know it? Leeds doubled their advantage three minutes after the break.

The ball whistled past falling bodies at a corner, and Sam Byram was at the back post to head home despite a despairing hand on the ball from Marcus Bettinelli.

Stafylidis took the long walk, but Fulham almost pulled one back only to see Ryan Tunnicliffe's seven-yard side-foot well saved by Silvestri.

Sub Alex Kacaniklic then brought the best out of the Leeds keeper from distance.

But the coffin nail was banged in a minute before the end when another sub, Mirco Antenucci, pounced on Bettinelli's parry from a cross to stab into the net and a dagger through Fulham hearts.
