FC Bridge 4-1 Yeading Lane

FC Bridge leapfrogged Yeading Lane at the top of the Middlesex County Sunday League Division One on Sunday after beating the leaders 4-1.

Brad Hand and Sean Tulley both bagged a brace for FC Bridge in the clash at Brunel University.

A scrappy opening saw Bridge fall behind but despite the early setback they began to control the tempo with midfielders Murray Williamson and Jay Dehaan dominating the middle of the park.

Hand created the equaliser as he crossed for winger Tully to place expertly into the far corner and just minutes later Tully grabbed his second tapping home a Jack Bigwood delivery.

Bridge grabbed a third when man of the match Dale Gordon was fouled in the box and Hand made no mistake from 12 yards to send Bridge into the break 3-1 up.

Hand converted again from the penalty spot after the interval when Danny Bennell was tripped in the box.

Manager Barry Walsh said: “We went into this game wanting to make a big statement against a good Yeading Lane side.

"Apart from the opening 15 minutes, I felt we dominated the game. Our back four were terrific today and they couldn't handle our attacking play.”

Bridge travel to Barnet Hearts on Sunday in the county cup.
