Brentford head coach Dean Smith has made three changes to face Burton Albion from the side that limply lost to Wolves on Tuesday night.

Yoann Barbet has come in for recent Ireland call up John Egan in defence, while Romaine Sawyers replaces Nico Yennaris in the midfield.

Smith has also made a change at left back as Tom Field comes in for Rico Henry, with the former Walsall man dropping to the bench.

Alan McCormack has returned to the subtitutes bench after his time on the sidelines with injury after he came through a game for the B team.

Michael Kightly has come in for Lloyd Dyer in Burton boss Nigel Clough's only change.

Cauley Woodrow gave it the big un after Burton made it 1-1 and Brentford fans are giving it back to him with avengance now. He who laughs last, laughs longest.

Burton playing a 9-0-1 formation. Currently 21 players are in the Burton half, however the Bees lose the ball and the Brewers surge forward. Woods half clears a cross and Woodrow fires a tame shot into Bentley’s hands.

Good play from Brentford - whatever Dean Smith said to them at half time, and we would guess that it went along the lines of ‘you got yourselves into this mess, now you sort it out’, has worked. Harlee Dean gets forward and his shot is saved by McLaughlin

Brentford are on the front foot now and are looking to turn the screw. Burton are happy to play on the counter

HALF TIME:

Woeful. Worrying. Abysmal. All descriptions that accurately describe Brentford’s first half showing here. Sergi Canos gave the Bees the lead but two identical Marvin Sordell goals and a Cauley Woodrow free kick have put the Brewers well on top. As bad as Tuesday? Worse in my view.

Another Burton corner

It goes behind for a goal kick - hallelujah

  • Share

The announcer harnesses his inner Yogi Berra by going ‘It’s deja vu all over again’ as Burton celebrate that goal. This is absolutely abysmal from Brentford.

  • Share

GOAL! Burton 3-1 Brentford (Woodrow 41)

Romaine Sawyers gives away a free kick for bringing down Luke Murphy. Woodrow wants to take it - he does and scores

  • Share

Have Brentford learned their lesson? Burton corner. Christensen takes but it’s a bit deeper and the Bees scramble it clear!

  • Share

Attack, Attack, Attack Attack Attack - that’s what the Brentford fans are singing. They want the Bees to sharpen up and show more in the final third. They win a corner as Jota’s deflected shot is turned behind by Jon McLaughlin. The corner is wasted

  • Share

Got to say this feels very much like Tuesday still from Brentford, bar the one moment of quality for the opening goal. Brentford need to sort this out and quickly.

Another corner to the near post. Another flick on. Another Marvin Sordell goal. That is woeful from the Brentford defenders.

GOAL! Burton 2-1 Brentford (Sordell 23)

GOAL! Burton 1-1 Brentford (Marvin Sordell 21)

Brentford concede from a corner. They fail to deal with the ball into the box and Marvin Sordell turns the ball home. Cauley Woodrow, on loan from Fulham, gives it the big one to the Brentford fans.
