Brentford staged a second half fightback as they came from 3-1 down at half time to Burton to triumph 5-3.

The Bees were poor in the first half and, despite leading in the opening exchanges through Sergi Canos, found themselves 2-1 down thanks to Marvin Sordell scoring identical goals as Cauley Woodrow flicked on Lasse Vigen Christensen's corners to him.

Woodrow, who drew the ire of the visiting fans for celebrating the equaliser in front of them, made it 3-1 before half time with a well taken free kick and the Bees looked beaten.

Whatever Dean Smith said at half time worked and Lasse Vibe pulled a goal back early in the second half before Sergi Canos wriggled free of the Burton defence to equalise.

Vibe was on the scoresheet again when he turned Florian Jozefzoon's cross home and then the Dane set up Jota to make it five as Brentford showed the worst, and best, of their play.

Below are how we rated the players in a bizarre game at the Pirelli Stadium.

Dan Bentley 6: Couldn't do much about the three goals but made a great save to deny Michael Kightly.

Maxime Colin 7: Ran down the wing and linked up well with Jota.

Harlee Dean 6: As captain, he would not be pleased with the first half defending but helped inspire his team to fight back in the second.

Yoann Barbet 6: Much like the rest of the team, a poor first half was followed by an excellent second.

Tom Field 6: The back five are all lumped in together on this one with the manner of their first half display. However, an inspired fightback.

Ryan Woods 6: Looked slightly off the pace but when Brentford turned it on, he was there to drive the west Londoners forward.

Konstantin Kerschbaumer 6: A decent performance but not too much to show for his efforts.

Romaine Sawyers 8: A beautiful cross to Sergi Canos to give the Bees the lead in the first half.

Jota 8: A late goal rounded off the win. Sparkles when he has the ball.

Lasse Vibe 9: After a difficult two games earlier this week, Vibe had a chance and scored to make it 3-2. Give him the ball in shooting range and he will score most of the time.

Sergi Canos 9: Two goals and a driving performance. He wanted to shine for the Bees and he did that, inspiring the second half fightback.

Substitutes

Nico Yennaris (for Konstantin Kerschbaumer) 7: Bitterly unlucky not to get on the scoresheet as he had two shots well blocked.

Florian Jozefzoon (for Sergi Canos) 7: Almost an instant impact as he had a shot cleared off the line.

Alan McCormack (for Romaine Sawyers) 6: An Alan McCormack performance. Drive and passion
