“We certainly had enough chances to get something out of it. We started quite brightly but there was a spell in the first half where I thought we got too deep and looked leggy and they controlled it. It was a poor goal to concede, the lad’s cut inside and it clipped off Harlee Dean’s head.
“It’s fine margins sometimes and unfortunately that can cost you the game. “I thought we started the second half really well – with the lead, it allowed them to look to counter us and kill the game.
“Sergi’s been fouled in the box, it could have been a penalty. John Egan’s goal was disallowed, I’m not sure what for, so that’s disappointing. But I thought they were the better team in the first half – I’ve got no complaints about that. We gave it a go at the end and at the start of the second half, with lots of endeavour.”
Rajiv Van La Parra replaced by Martin Cranie. Peter Gilham calls his name again just in case he hasn’t heard. The man who set up what could be Huddersfield’s winner is now off.
Harlee Dean better be careful here. He was clearly shoved over and he’s having words with the referee. He’s in a yellow but he gets away with it. In fairness, he had a valid point.
Brentford substitution
Nico Yennaris is withdrawn and Philipp Hofmann comes on. Brentford now going 4-2-4 it looks like.
Harlee Dean nearly puts it into his own net as he cuts out a dangerous cross. It lifts Brentford and Konstantin Kerschbaumer is on to replace Romaine Sawyers.
Brentford need to push further forward and peg the visitors back. There’s 22 minutes left. The Bees can pick up at least a point or even more.

Sergi Canos is coming on for the Bees. He replaces Florian Jozefzoon. The Dutchman had a good game. Great cheer for Sergi as he comes on though.
Referee coming in for flak
Brentford fans are harrassing Oliver Langford now singing ‘Can we have a referee’. Mr Langford has not had the best day at the office it must be said.

Jota runs at the Huddersfield defence and his shot is deflected over. The Spaniard takes the corner - the ball is headed in by John Egan but the referee has spotted a foul and blew before the header.

Phil Billing is the man replaced with Aaron Mooy coming on for the Terriers.

Jota’s free kick is turned behind for a corner and the Spaniard trots across to take it. Sawyers spreads a pass to Colin but the return ends up out of play.
Brentford miss a sitter and hit the bar
Lasse Vibe should have put Brentford back on level terms. A great cross comes in.Vibe in acres of space and blazes over. Vibe has another shot which deflects onto the crossbar.
Clearing up the Huddersfield opener
My apologies. It didn’t come off John Egan. It actually came off Harlee Dean. Should go down as an own goal but an unfortunate one at that. Nothing he could have done.
Back under way
Huddersfield start brightly and win a corner. There’s concern as Harlee appears to take a knock but he’s back up. The corner is cleared.
HALF TIME: Brentford 0-1 Huddersfield
That’s the half time whistle. Huddersfield worthy of their lead, albeit in freak circumstances, but Brentford have had bright spells. An even game overall.

Rico Henry wins a corner down the right hand side. Jota takes it, after the referee had words with Romaine Sawyers. Vibe is pulled down and he wants a penalty. not given. He’s angry with Chris Lowe and there’s a bit of handbags before they kiss and make up (shake hands) sort of.

The captain is in the book for dissent. He’s not been happy with how Oliver Langford has officiated this game. May be a ruse to try and lift his side.
Huddersfield hit the post
Tommy Smith causes problems on the right flank. His cross is turned towards goal by Nakhi Wells and it strikes the bottom of the post.
Brentford pressure
Great work from Rico Henry down the left flank and his teasing cross is just cleared with Jozefzoon waiting at the back post to nod the ball home. Better from Brentford and Henry is at it again as he creates space for himself and his shot somehow just goes wide of the post. Let off for Huddersfield
Brentford fans are frustrated with referee Oliver Langford as they don’t get a free kick with Jozefzoon appearing to be tripped. A few sarcastic cheers emerge when they do get a decision.
Reminds me of Murray’s goal for Brighton last night. My eyes may be deceiving me but there was certainly a deflection. Nobody really sure how that went in. One to see again.

Not too sure how that happened. Rajiv Van La Parra whips in a cross. The ball cannons between Harlee Dean and Dan Bentley and the Bees are behind.
Huddersfield corner
It’s been an excellent spell of pressure from Huddersfield so far and they have forced a corner but it’s cleared.
Huddersfield fans declare their view of Brentford as a place - it’s not positive. One Bees fan tells them to go home then. The language was slightly stronger than this.
Huddersfield fans are in good voice. They must have heard that Newcastle are behind at home to Fulham.
