Halifax 1-1 Barnet

Barnet failed to make the most of their game in hand over Bristol Rovers as they conceded a last minute goal at Halifax Town.

Curtis Weston's volley midway through the second half appeared to have given the Bees the victory and a three point gap over the Pirates.

But the visitors were forced to sit back after David Stephens' red card and Lois Maynard equalised for the Shaymen late on.

On a pudding of a pitch, the home side looked to make their experience count as they pushed forward early on.

But it was Barnet who produced the best chances of the first half as Weston forced a save from Matt Glennon and Andy Yiadom fired his effort wide.

John Akinde missed a glorious chance to give his side the lead after being picked out by Elliott Johnson, but could only fire the ball straight at Glennon.

They had the lead 10 minutes later as Lee Cook's corner was met by Weston, who slammed the ball into the net.

Stephens, who had already been booked, received a second yellow card in stoppage time and, from the resulting free-kick, the ball fell to Maynard who poked the ball home at the death.
