Harrow Borough 4-1 Maidstone United

Two goals from Simeon Akinola helped Harrow Borough to a 4-1 victory over league leaders Maidstone United on Saturday.

Harold Odametey and Victor Osobu were also on target as mid-table Borough upset the form book to ease their own relegation fears.

Dave Anderson's side went ahead in the 11th minute after great skill and balance in the box from Shaun Lucien who fed striker Spencer Bellotti and he found Akinola to score into the top left hand corner.

Maidstone levelled matters on the half-hour through Frannie Collin with a well constructed move finished by the striker as he headed effortlessly into the net.

Borough had a golden chance to regain the lead when Stones' Jack Parkinson was penalised for handball in the box but Akinola's spot-kick was saved by Lee Worgan.

But they were back in front minutes later when new recruit Odametey smashed a powerful strike into the top left hand corner.

And they extended it even further on the stroke of half time when Akinola, who had previously just seen an effort cleared off the line, was sent clear by Lucien and rounded Worgan to slot home his second.

Maidstone started the second half strongly and Harrow keeper James Shea had to be alert to keep out Alex Brown and Collin while at the other end Bellotti was denied twice by Worgan.

The visitors then had a goal ruled out for offside that might have given them hope of salvaging a point but it was Borough who had the final say when captain Michael Peacock released substitute Osobu who beat one defender before firing into the net to seal the three points.
