PREMIER DIVISION: Biggleswade United 1 Harefield United 2

Harefield United went two points clear at the top of the table despite playing the last half hour of their game at Biggleswade United with only 10 men.

Tom Kirk received his second booking with the score at 1-1 but eight minutes later Luke Lloyd completed his brace to put the Hares in front for a second time.

Harefield came under heavy pressure for the remainder of the game but the 10 men held on for a deserved win, showing the kind of determination they will need if they are to stay clear of the likes of second-placed Langford, as well as Oxhey Jets and Chalfont St Peter, who have games in hand.

Craig Totton and Adam Willis tried to open up Biggleswade down the flanks but good defending and a few missed chances meant the Hares struggled to dominate what turned into a scrappy game.

However, Lloyd gave his side a 23rd minute lead when he drove home from 20 yards.

Biggleswade pressed for the equaliser and it was Meshach Cole who caused the Hares defence a few problems and on 32 minutes his shot was well saved by Charlie Miller, but he could only watch as it dropped to Sean Murray who duly obliged for the equaliser.

Both defences were kept busy for the rest of the half but neither side could make the breakthrough.
