DIVISION ONE NORTH: Hillingdon Borough 3 Chatham Town 4
There was more heartbreak for Hillingdon Borough who took a 2-0 lead but ended up on the wrong end of a 4-3 defeat at home to Chatham Town.
Luke Beardsworth and Batov Maxim put Boro in sight of what would have been only their third win in 31 league games.
However, Chatham cut the deficit just three minutes in to the second half and added three more before Beardsworth grabbed a late consolation for beleagured Boro, who are now 16 points from safety with 11 games to go.
The first 45 minutes were fairly even but Boro enjoyed a lucky break when the Chatham goal-keeper struggled to deal with a 12th minute pass back and Beardsworth tucked the ball away.
The visitors mounted some good attacks to put Hillingdon under pressure but the hosts stayed strong and made it hard for Chatham before ending the period on the front foot.
Three minutes from the interval they were awarded a free kick and Maxim produced a sweet shot that gave the keeper no chance and suddenly Boro led 2-0.
It was an unfamiliar position to find themselves in and they soon had a battle on their hands when Lee Barnett halved the deficit almost immediately and it was downhill for Boro from then on.
Bryon Walker volleyed the visitors level Rob Denness took them in front for the first time and the same man added another to seal the result.
There was more incident to come though, as Beardsworth pulled a goal back late on and Gary Edwards was sent off for his part in an even later melee.
