Guus Hiddink is desperate for Chelsea to convert draws into wins as he eyes up a Europa League berth.

Chelsea have been unbeaten in the league since December, when the Dutchman took charge, but have seen too many home draws to really charge up the league ladder.

The Blues stuttered once more as they drew with fifth-placed West Ham at Stamford Bridge, after a Cesc Fabregas double rescued a late point for them.

But Hiddink knows that even though Chelsea have hauled themselves away from the bottom of the table, they can still end the season with the consolation of finishing in a European position.

He said: "Since December we are unbeaten in the league but saying that too many draws.

"We would have liked to have many more victories as West Ham is doing now for those Champions League positions. They deserve many compliments for their squad and their coaching.

"Our target now is to see if we can get the European spot and also, second, I think having this half-season - the players have to show why they are playing at a big club.

"The pride is also at stake when you are having the experience they had in the first half of the season."

Chelsea fell behind to an early Manuel Lanzini thunderbolt, before Fabregas' first half free kick equalised for the hosts.

The Hammers looked set to take the victory when Andy Carroll slid the ball into the net when through on goal, before a late foul on Ruben Loftus-Cheek gave Fabregas a second from the penalty spot.

And replays showed that not only did the 'foul' appear to be outside the box, but that the Chelsea youngster actually tripped himself up.

But Hiddink believes that the match officials made the correct call.

He added: "It’s difficult to have a judgement when you see the angles. If you have a camera very straight on the line, you can make one.

"If there was any doubt, it was the benefit of the doubt which the referee made. I thought it was right on the line when he was tripped, he was about to score, he was tripped in my opinion but you have to make a very fair judgement.

"The line is a part of the box I think. When there is doubt, benefit should go in favour of the attacking team."
