DIVISION ONE SOUTH AND WEST AFC Hayes 0 North Leigh 4

A four-game winning streak came to a shuddering halt as AFC Hayes crashed to a shock 4-0 defeat at home to mid-table rivals North Leigh.

The hosts, who have been full of goals in the last month, suddenly lost their shooting boots as they squandered enough chances to win the game in the opening 10 minutes alone.

Jay Pereira, Dean Papali, Kevin Chakaodza and Trevor Charlery were all guilty of wasting opportunities as Hayes looked set to run riot, only for the visitors to deliver a long cross and Chris Allen fired in an unstoppable shot for an 11th minute lead.

The hosts continued to create and miss chances and Leigh punished them again, Andy McCabe tapping in the second midway through the half before he added the third on the hour after more wayward shooting by Hayes. At 3-0 down Ross Ahir went clean through but was denied by keeper Lee Farrow and Liam Hope completed a miserable day for Hayes just before the final whistle.
