Former Barnet keeper Shane Gore admits he is very impressed with the club's new facilities at The Hive.

Gore made 32 league and cup appearances for the Bees between 2003 and 2005, winning the Conference National title with the club before going on to feature for Stevenage and Luton, and finally settling at Chesham United.

Barnet were based at their old Underhill home when Gore was turning out for them, before moving to the London Borough of Harrow to settle at The Hive last summer.

Gore, who started his career with Wimbledon, made his first visit to the new site last Saturday when his Chesham side beat Barnet's U18s in a pre-season friendly.

Gore said: “Looking around, Barnet have got some very impressive facilities here, which is good to see, and a good base for them to build the club back up on.

“They should be a Football League side really, and I'm sure they will get back there soon, and they now have a ground from where they can build a sustainable future.”

There was no sentiment from Gore in the pitch, however, saving a first half penalty before Chesham ran out 6-0 winners
