ZOLTAN Gera has revealed Mark Hughes rejected his plea to go on loan earlier this month.

The Fulham winger has been a bit-part player since Hughes took over from Roy Hodgson last summer.

The Hungarian was so concerned about his lack of game time that he asked his boss to leave Craven Cottage in a bid to find first-team football.

But Gera failed to move on before last Thursday's transfer deadline.

He said: "I asked the manager to loan me out because I would like to play, but they didn't let me go.

"I wanted to leave in January too. I will be in a better position [when my contract expires] in summer.

"I will play, if not for Fulham, then someone else."
