Chelsea nemesis Zlatan Ibrahimovic credited PSG’s possession-based game as the Ligue 1 side knocked the Blues out of the Champions League.

Goals from Ibrahimovic and Adrien Rabot in the second leg nullified Diego Costa’s strike, which looked to have dragged Guus Hiddink’s men back into contention.

But the Swedish striker, who also scored in the first leg, said the Parisian’s had to work hard for their win.

He said: “I stayed more than 20 minutes on the pitch this year! We did a good game, very stable.

“We played with lots of patient possession and when we had a chance to strike we scored two goals. We had enough to win the game.

"Overall we played the way we wanted to. It was not easy, you have to watch out.

“Chelsea's front four are able to do anything. We are doing good things, where we end up we don't know. We are not satisfied yet."

Chelsea’s Spanish forward Costa scored and looked set to add to his tally before injury forced him off injured.

And PSG centre back David Luiz, formerly of the Blues, believes the substitution for youngster Bertrand Traore helped the visitors.

He said: "Diego Costa is a fantastic player and to play against him is very difficult.

"It was a difficult game for us but we never change our philosophy, we try to play with the ball and create gaps to score. It was a collective victory.

”Everyone knows how hard it is to play here. We kept calm and we scored at key moments.

“We try our best to go on and win it. We are ready.”
