PAUL Konchesky reckons there is room not only for him in the England World Cup squad but for Fulham team-mate Bobby Zamora as well.

The defender is all too aware of his country’s problems at left back, and has thrown his hat into the ring for a trip to South Africa in the summer.

And, acting as unofficial agent for his team-mate, Konch wants his striker pal alongside him in cabin class for the ride.

The shoo-in for England’s left side of defence, Ashley Cole, is injured and likely substitute Wayne Bridge declared himself unavailable after the scandal surrounding his former girlfriend and Chelsea’s John Terry .

So Konchesky is hoping boss Fabio Capello gets himself down to Fulham between now and the end of the season.

The player said: "With Bobby scoring as he has been doing, it would be great if he got a chance as well.

“If Mr Capello keeps coming (to see Fulham) - and one or two of us can catch the eye - we can hopefully get there.

“I’ve been at the club three years and this is the best we’ve done, so with the team doing well, it’s always going to help you."
