ALEX Kacaniklic wants to cement a place in the Fulham side after returning to the fold against Arsenal on Saturday.
The young winger went straight into the starting XI for the 1-0 defeat to the Gunners after being recalled from his loan spell at Championship outfit Burnley.
And the Sweden international hopes he can keep his spot in Martin Jol's first team.
He said: “I was happy with my performance. I am happy to be back, this is where I want to be.
“I was not surprised to be back in the starting line-up. Whether it is here or for the national team, I want to play and I want to start.”
Kacaniklic made six appearances for the Clarets after making the switch to Turf Moor in March, only to have his spell cut short after injuries to Damien Duff and Ashkan Dejagah.
The talented 21-year-old believes he has benefited from his time at Burnley, but insists his long-term future is in SW6.
“The time on loan was good,” he added. “You learn something from every game you play.
“It was my decision to go on loan because I was not playing too much here.
“I think I am in the manager’s thoughts, and the club’s thoughts.
“I think they believe in me and have shown that throughout the season because I have played 25 games here, so I should be happy with the season.
“I have got some big games for Sweden this summer, which will be important for me, and then the aim is to come back here and get a place for the whole of next season.”
