THE nationwide contest to find an amateur footballer who is good enough to turn pro has kicked off again – and it is bigger and better than ever.

The third Samsung-sponsored ‘Win A Pro Contract’ competition is for the first time offering a year-long professional playing contract at TWO League One Football League clubs – Swindon Town and Leyton Orient.

So, a total of two players – one at each club - will get to live the dream like the current winner, defender Chris Smith, who has already played a first team game for Paolo Di Canio’s promotion-winning Swindon side.

Four months ago Smith, 21, of Stoke, was a full-time student working part-time in a bakery.

Now he’s a pro with a boot sponsorship deal!

Chris says: “I entered Win A Pro for the hell of it. It has changed my life. I am truly living the dream.”

In the first two years of Win A Pro Contract nearly 10,000 hopefuls have entered and gone through the skills trials and 11-a-side matches.

Have you got what it takes to turn pro?
