It's been a hot topic of debate this season among QPR fans as to who is the club's most effective striker.

While the likes of Jamie Mackie and Conor Washington provide more to Ian Holloway's system in terms of work-rate and energy, Matt Smith and Idrissa Sylla appear to be more clinical for chance conversion, despite not slotting into Ollie's way of playing as readily.

But strikers are around for one job and that's the put the ball in the back of the net, so we've decided to take a look at the figures behind each of our strikers to find out who is in, in fact, QPR's top marksman.

Analysis

As well as topping the scoring charts, Matt Smith is also the only striker to turn provider for his team-mates, laying on two assists this term.

Smith has been a particularly effective "super sub" this term, acting as a real threat in the penalty area as a focal point to last-gasp attacks, resulting in a significantly better minutes-per-goal record than any of the other senior strikers at the club.

The former-Fulham man has a decent accuracy record also, hitting 59% of his shots on target; a record bettered only by Idrissa Sylla.

According to the statistics, Sylla is the club's second most effective front-man, hitting 63% of his efforts on target and having the second highest minutes-per-goal record.

Jamie Mackie and Conor Washington's record in front of goal isn't quite as impressive, having scored the same amount of goals despite having played twice as many minutes as Sylla and Smith.

This has given Mackie and Washington a record of 302 and 301 minutes-per-goal respectively, and a shooting accuracy of 41% and 54% respectively; a figure which is significantly lower than that of Smith and Sylla, who despite not contributing as much to Ollie's system, certainly pose a much bigger goal-scoring threat.
