Brentford full back Tom Field is not expecting Birmingham to be much different from the side that played at Griffin Park.

Since the Blues triumphed 2-1 in November they sacked Gary Rowett and replaced him with former West Ham and Norwich boss Gianfranco Zola.

Results have taken a downturn in recent weeks as the Italian gets his feet under the table at St Andrews but Field doesn't expect much difference from the Rowett side at this time.

He said: “I think Birmingham will be the same as what we played here. Zola will need time to change them so I think they'll be the same as here.”

The Brentford full back admitted he was surprised, like the rest of the footballing world, that Rowett had been sacked by Birmingham's new owners.

He added: “It surprised me as they were doing well this year so we need to do the same to what we did to them at home where I thought we'd outplayed them.”
