A West Middlesex Sunday Football League team were the stars of the show at Upton Park on Monday.

AFC Staines, who finished 10th in Division Two, won FourFourTwo magazine's Weekend Wonders competition to be given Premiership treatment for the day.

They travelled by luxury coach and were trained by professional coaches before taking on Bournemouth-based Hollies United at West Ham's home ground.

And it was a memorable day for Darren Peters, who struck a hat-trick as Staines ran out 5-1 winners.

Andy Dennis gave them the lead before Peters opened his account with a second, while Andy Talbot made some good saves. Hollies pulled one back straight after the break before Gary Hutchinson restored the two-goal cushion after being set free by Peters and Jamie McLean.

Peters then sealed the win and his treble with two more.

Staines vice captain Andy Holdaway said: "It was a fantastic day - the lads all played their socks off today and it really showed. "Dazza was outstanding and thoroughly deserved his goals."
