WATFORD and Peterborough United have enquired about taking Fulham full-back Matthew Briggs on loan.

Martin Jol told the Chronicle earlier this week that he was weighing up whether to send the youngster out to get first-team football.

Briggs was restricted to a handful of Premier League appearances last campaign, spending a month on loan at Peterborough.

And the Chronicle understands Posh and Championship rivals Watford have both asked about the 21-year-old's situation at Craven Cottage .

Jol said: “Matty needs games but I need cover as well. In pre-season he's looked very good, so we will have to think about that in the next couple of weeks.”
