Felix Magath admits he's 'afraid' of the drop as Fulham's season reaches breaking point.

The Cottagers head to Stoke on Saturday with their survival hopes hanging by a thread following last weekend's draw with Hull that saw them drop two vital points.

German Magath has never been relegated and earned a reputation in his homeland as a firefighter after steering a string of sides to safety.

He said: "For me, [keeping Fulham up] it would be my most successful achievement.

"I have never been relegated and I'm a bit afraid of the situation, I don't know how it feels to be relegated. I am afraid.

"I am always nervous, without nerves you cannot bring 100 per cent.

"The mental side is always the most important thing - the players know how to kick, mentality is what we are fighting for."
