David Button produced a save of the season contender as the Brentford goalkeeper produced an reflex stop to deny Joe Garner at Preston.

The Bees were leading 2-1 at the time and under the cosh as the home side looked to score another equaliser.

The goalkeeper punched the ball away after a free kick but only as far as Daniel Johnson on the edge of the area.

The midfielder rifled a shot in that looked as if it was going wide but it deflected off Garner, who was about eight yards out, towards the goal.

Button, who had been moving to his left to cover Johnson's shot, threw his body back to his right and tipped the ball onto the bar. The stop was crucial as Brentford made it 3-1 soon after to take all three points back to west London.

It is not the first time Button has produced a moment of magic in January as he made another superb reflex save to deny Cameron Jerome as the Bees won 2-1 at Norwich last season after Bradley Johnson's effort hit the crossbar in the first instance.
