Mark Warburton has promised Brentford fans they have not yet seen the best of Marcos Tebar.

The summer signing from Le Liga side Almeria was handed his first league start in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth.

But the midfielder, whose impressive range of passing was a feature of Brentford's pre-season, did not have the best of games on the south coast and was replaced by Stuart Dallas just before the hour mark.

Warburton said: “Marcos is still adjusting to the intensity of the English game. His best attributes are keeping the ball and moving it on, and he was scrappy today by his own high standards. But he will only get better and will impact a lot for us.”

Warburton added two more Spanish midfielders to his squad last week, with Jota Peleterio joining from Celta Vigo on Thursday, followed by Jon Toral on a season-long loan from Arsenal on Friday.

Although little is yet known about Toral, Jota was seen by Bees fans as an exciting capture, and Warburton plans to involve the 23 year old in tomorrow's Championship clash at Blackpool.

He added: “Jota is very talented, a left footed lad with excellent ball control. He makes a real impact in the final third, and he will be involved on Tuesday.

“We are also very grateful to Arsenal for lending us Toral, who has came through a couple of injuries. He is an attacking midfielder with a wealth of talent, and his touch is very good. He will be challenging for a place, he won't be here to make up the numbers.”
